Wrist aims to automate product selection in 2023 using artificial intelligence

In the ship supply industry, code cracking is handled manually by joint efforts of so-called code cracking experts, and Wrist is now improving the product selection process by developing a tool fueled by artificial intelligence.

Artificial Intelligence (AI) is rapidly developing and is now at a stage where companies apply it in practice at a rapidly growing pace. In Wrist, we aim to leverage these new opportunities to optimize the way we work as well as the value we offer our customers.

With this new product selection tool, we will be able to faster select products for our customers and thus reduce the processing time even further. Due to Wrist’s unique market position, it is possible to accrue a significant amount of historic data to feed the AI tool, resulting in a great foundation for this and/or other AI deployments.

IT Director, Martin Hell, says:

“The product selection tool is still in the test stage, but already now we see that the automated AI engine can confidently code crack about 85% of approx. 5,000 lines. These early results are good indications that we may be able to further automate this process by focusing on enhancing the tool and guiding the items it selects.”
