Expansion to Shanghai, China

Wrist opened new facilities in Shanghai to strengthen its services in China. Located near the Wai Gao Qiao container port, the branch serves all major ports in Shanghai and shipyards in the Yangtze region.

Wrist opened new facilities in Hamburg, improving service offering in the region and enhancing delivery time as well as frequency significantly.

Acquisition: Garrets

Wrist acquired Garrets International, one of the world’s leading marine caterers, handling provision supplies and budget control to over 1,000 ships worldwide. Garrets was combined with SeaStar Management to operate under the Garrets name.

Wrist acquired Southern Ship Supply, expanding its physical warehouse network in a strategic port along the U.S. East Coast.

Acquisition: Penta Offshore and Marine

Wrist acquired Penta Offshore and Marine in Singapore, a rapidly growing marine supply and service provider, bringing on board a highly experienced team with more than 100 years of combined industry expertise.

Wrist acquired Triton Marine Group Inc. on the U.S. West Coast.

Expansion to Shenzhen, China

Wrist established a sourcing office in Shenzhen with 100 sq. m. offices and 550 sq. m. warehouse, allowing the team to improve on logistics, quality assurance, consolidation, etc.

Wrist acquired Yamamoto Bros., a provider of undisclosed goods and services based on the U.S. West Coast.

Acquisition: Saga Shipping A/S

Wrist acquired Saga Shipping A/S, an offshore supply and ship agency in Denmark. The acquisition added strong local expertise and a fleet of supply and crew vessels.

Wrist acquired Strachans Ltd., UK’s leading independent food distributor to the offshore market, moving towards expansion into the global offshore oil and gas industry.

Acquisition: One Source North America

Wrist acquired One Source North America (World Ship Supply, West Coast Ship Supply, East Coast Ship Supply and Karlo Corporation) – the largest ship supply organization in North America.

This acquisition has given a significant presence in the North American and Canadian markets.

First International Deliveries

Ove Wrist & Co. A/S completed its first ship stores deliveries outside Denmark, supplying vessels in the Kiel Canal and ports across Northern Europe.

Incorporation of Ove Wrist & Co. Ltd.

Ove Wrist retired from the business, which was converted into a limited company under the name Ove Wrist & Co. Ltd.

At this point, the company employed seven people and supplied ships across all Danish ports.

Wrist Moved to Larger Premises

Ove Wrist employed four people and moved into larger premises with room for a grocery shed, a tiny office and a small store room.

The Beginning of Wrist

Ove Wrist started his own ship supply business from a small rented room and warehouse in the Port of Aalborg, where he supplied coasters coming to the ports of Aalborg and Nørresundby, including vessels from Finland and Sweden.
