Wrist Acquires Boa Praça, Expanding its Global Reach to Brazil

PRESS RELEASE
Noerresundby - Denmark

For the second time this year, Wrist, the world’s largest supplier of provisions, stores and spare parts logistics for vessels and offshore locations, announces an acquisition in a key shipping and maritime supply market. The Danish based ship supply and maritime logistics Group acquires Boa Praça General Ship Supplier, Brazilian market leader in maritime supplies.

In acquiring Boa Praça General Ship Supplier (Boa Praça), a business unit of Brazil’s Boa Praça Group, Wrist is expanding its commercial and operational footprint to a new continent, supporting the company’s goal of continuously expanding its global maritime services and supply network.

Jens Holger Nielsen, Group CEO, Wrist says “We’re looking forward to having Ulisses and his team onboard and collaborating with our more than 200 new colleagues at Boa Praça who service their customers with an extensive portfolio of products and services for more than 25 different Brazilian ports and terminals. Boa Praça has a strong and respected name in the market with Brazilian as well as international customers, and I am certain that our customers will benefit from the combined capabilities of Wrist and Boa Praça. This acquisition forms parts of Wrist’s strategy of expanding our geographical scope and services to the shipping and offshore industries.”

Until now, Boa Praça has been the exclusive distributor of selected Wrist products in Brazil. Now, the extended Group is, among other things, aiming to further develop the supply of provisions and stores as well as spare parts logistics of Wrist’s overseas customer base.

“As part of Wrist Ship Supply, there are significant upsides for Boa Praça beyond traditional ship supply. We will be able to extend our customer services overseas through the global Wrist network. Our purchasing power will benefit from the global sourcing scale, and through Wrist’s oil & gas and renewables experience, we can develop our offshore energy sector supply proposition, considering also future containerized supplies. But the most important thing for me is the new collaboration and relationship-building that would benefit customers locally and globally. Wrist’s view of the future and the enormous opportunities in the Brazilian market is a perfect fit with ours,” says Ulisses Pincelli, Managing Director of Boa Praça.

Boa Praça serves several of Brazil’s main ports from four operational bases located in Rio de Janeiro, Macaé, Vitória and Recife, providing customers with provisions, stores, technical products and bonded items, as well as, of course, spare parts logistics and storage. The company’s commercial activities are based at its headquarters in Vitória, Espírito Santo.

Ana Célia Depollo, former owner of Boa Praça General Ship Supplier, says: "We have prepared the company and the Leite Depollo family for this moment. We are confident that Wrist will continue to treat people, customers and partners with its expert care." Alexandre J. Leite, former owner alongside Ana Célia, adds: "We are proud to have looked after and developed this business, offering the Brazilian market the best solutions for the ship supply industry."

Boa Praça will be renamed ‘Wrist Boa Praça’.

More acquisitions are planned and expected in 2025.
