In November 2023, we proudly expanded our footprint in China with the opening of a new branch in Qingdao. This strategic move marks another milestone in our ongoing journey of regional growth and geographic development. Following the successful establishment of our branches in Guangzhou and Shanghai, the decision to extend our presence to Northern China was the next logical step, ensuring we are where our customers are.
“With this successful expansion to Qingdao, one of the world’s busiest ports, we reflect our commitment to being where our customers need us, ultimately improving our service in the region.” Says Yingli Kier, General Manager, China.
Strategically located near shipyards in the Shandong Peninsula Region
The expansion to Qingdao allows Wrist China to improve the service and responsiveness to customers in the region, particularly to customers involved in newbuilding and docking projects at shipyards in the Shandong Peninsula area.
Newbuilding orders, at Chinese shipyards, are up 43% compared to last year, and Shandong province is part of the top five Chinese shipbuilding provinces which delivered 90.7% vessels of the national volume in the first half of this year (Seatrade Maritime).
“This year, we marked our initial stores delivery No. 300 to newbuilds in China – and with this expansion to a top shipbuilding province, we expect to support many more newbuilding projects in the future,” says Yingli Kier.
