The last two years have seen a great partnership develop between the international shipping company Seatrade Groningen B.V. and Wrist Ship Supply – to the benefit of both parties.
“With a global port network, Wrist is an important supplier to us.” Says Hans Schreuder, Manager Procurement at Seatrade.
With more than 50 vessels in global waters, he emphasizes that it is important for Seatrade to team up with a global ship supplier to ensure the line-up of operational processes, making the entire process from requesting quotations up to supply to the vessel much more efficient.
Hans Schreuder continues: “Having an efficient supply chain process is key and in the interest of us as customer as well as for Wrist as supplier. For example, we benefit from fixed prices in our purchase database. This means that for a lot of items, we don’t have to ask for a quotation, but can simply send out a purchase order from our system with the correct prices and Wrist item numbers.”
When asked what really adds value for Seatrade and makes life easier for Hans and his colleagues, he points to three major points:
Overcoming challenges
In the past, Seatrade faced some challenges in their cooperation with Wrist, caused by a restructuring of the Wrist Rotterdam branch. When asked why the cooperation was continued, Seatrade’s Hans Schreuder explains that:
“We experienced a professional approach to the situation – the Wrist management reached out to us and informed us regularly about improvements made to solve the issues and overcome the challenges Wrist was facing. Today, we appreciate the close cooperation with Wrist also because any claims are always taken seriously and solved satisfactorily.”
Jaco Hooij, Managing Director, Wrist Rotterdam adds: “We are grateful for the strong partnership we have with Seatrade today, and we acknowledge the great cooperation on both operational and management level.”
