Seafarers’ centre of the year award 2015

This year, the Wrist sponsored award went to the centre in Bremerhafen. Pastor Werner Gerke and three of his colleagues received the award in front of 100 delegates from IMO and 60 delegates from ISWAN.

The Seafarer Centre Bremerhafen employs 35 people (hereof 20 volunteers). The centre makes 1400 ship visits and receives 40,000 seafarers yearly in their centre facilities. An impressive effort is done every day to give the seafarers a little relief from hard duty and isolation on the vessels.
